On August 22, 2023, the Baltimore Church scandal—along with the names of five ranking archdiocese officials involved in mishandling the church sexual abuse crisis, seven of the ten alleged abusers whose names were initially redacted will be released. The new report with the redactions lifted will be released in late September.

Attorney General releases report in Baltimore church scandal.

Maryland’s Attorney General released the 456-page report in Pring of 2023. Their investigation details over 150 abusers within the Archdiocese who are involved in the Baltimore Church scandal that allegedly assaulted more than 600 children over decades. Child Sexual Abuse Attorney Steve Boyd believes the number is much higher. “I started investigating child sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church in 1993. I think the coming months will reveal a much higher number of survivors”, Boyd said.
